Product Designer (Junior)
Purpose of the role
Junior designers focus exclusively on detailed design work; operating alongside the team's current development effrts (under experienced direction) to execute on the form and function of a given solution.
About the role
A product designer who is new to their career or has some experience but is new to Redgate.
Typically focused on developing their fundamental product design skills. Capable of delivering smaller pieces of work, completing well-defined tasks, working solo or as part of a pair or mob.

Role-Specific
- Experienced with applying principles of good UI/visual (layout, colour, hierarchy, type etc.); with the ability to work with little/no supervision when designing user interfaces.
- Experienced with using common interface controls, interaction patterns, paradigms and workflows; with the ability to work with little/no supervision to prototype and communicate their ideas.
- Limited direct experience of planning, running and anlysing the feedback from evaluative research sessions, to test/validate ideas or optimise a given solution; still requiring regular support and supervision.
- Theoretical knowledge only of planning, conducting and analysing strategic research activities, necessary to discover, understand and define the scope and nature of customers' problems; requiring ongoing direction and supervision.

Communication
- Shares their design work with immediate design and engineering peers for review and regular feedback.
- Able to provide ad-hoc guidance to immediate peers on basic design principles/best practice.
